The European Union on Monday condemned Iran’s use of violence against citizens “seeking to exercise their freedom of expression and right to peaceful assembly.”

“I may go sometime in the future, but I have no plans as of now,” Kerry told The Cable, neither confirming or denying that he had proposed being the first senior official to publicly visit Tehran since the revolution.

National Iranian American Council (NIAC) and its president Trita Parsi arranged to receive congressional appropriated funds from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and Eurasia Foundation. NIAC’s projects were approved and welcomed by the Iranian regime. The Iranian foreign ministry asked NIAC to coordinate its projects with Hamyaran. Consequently, NIAC’s main partner in Tehran was Hamyaran.
