National Iranian American Council (NIAC) and its president Trita Parsi arranged to receive congressional appropriated funds from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and Eurasia Foundation. NIAC’s projects were approved and welcomed by the Iranian regime. The Iranian foreign ministry asked NIAC to coordinate its projects with Hamyaran. Consequently, NIAC’s main partner in Tehran was Hamyaran.
