Let Iran know that the global community is monitoring their every move

Jun 16th, 2009

Up to 1 million people poured into the streets yesterday despite a ban on opposition protests. Basij (paramilitary) forces opened fire indiscriminately, killing at least one person and injuring several others. Be the Voice of Political Prisoners in Iran on the Election Day

Jun 7th, 2009

This election lacks all aspects of a democratic exercise and moreover, the electoral system has been rendered insignificant by the doctrine of velayet-e faqih (i.e. guardianship by Mullah). According to the article 57 of the Islamic regime’s Constitution, the Supreme Leader has the absolute authority over all branches of the government and has tried to dominate every sphere of life of each individual in the country. Now four men who have held high position within the system and shown their allegiance to the Leader, are selected and approved as candidates and people are asked to choose one!

The Leveretts get Iran all wrong

May 31st, 2009

Just as he is being criticized by those to his right for his emphasis on engagement with Iran, President Obama came under attack from the left, in the op-ed pages of the May 23 New York Times, for just the opposite. Unlike critics from the right who largely concur with the president’s stated objectives but disagree with his tactics, Flynt Leverett and Hillary Mann Leverett argue for a full about-face on Iran policy.

-Just tell us what PAIC has accomplished! Tell us that you don’t support bombing Iran and Iranians and that you do what humanly possible to stop it.
-What you don’t see PAIC doing is not to ignore human rights violations in Iran, whereas NIAC and AIC do. What you don’t see PAIC doing is to call Hezbollah and Hamas as non-terrorist groups, whereas Hooshang Amirahmadi of AIC has.

Roxana Saberi: Another Victim of the “Satanic Regime” in Iran

Apr 30th, 2009

Therefore, to promote human rights and democracy and fight international terrorism, the policies of the democratic governments, the United Nations, and international human rights organizations toward the Islamic regime are very important. These governments and institutions should provide the moral and political support for prodemocracy movement in Iran. This can be achieved by demanding the respect for human rights, in any possible meeting and negotiation with the regime.

“The Disgrace of the Earth” in the US House of Representatives!

Apr 20th, 2009

Until recently, these kinds of wheeling-and-dealings had not been exposed to the mainstream Iranian community residing in Washington. Bob Ney who had spent a few years in Iran and could more or less speak Farsi was better identified by his close friendship with two other Iranians who ran his private and public affairs with the Islamic Republic. These two well-read characters are Houshang Amir Ahmadi; acting as the toll man and the financial aid incumbent and the other is Trita Parsi; acting as cultural mediator and so called foreign affairs advisor.

Iranian Community’s Letter to President Obama for his Nowruz Message

Mar 25th, 2009

On behalf of the Iranian-Americans, gratefully appreciate your Nowruz greeting on the occasion of Iranian New Year, and, rightly praising the Iranian people and its heritage. We believe the only way to halt the nuclear apparatus of the rulers of the Islamic Republic by all the international community would be to cut off ALL the economic and diplomatic relations with the rulers of the Islamic Republic and to side with the people of Iran.
